Well, since I just about have the interior modeling done for the FireArc I thought I’d jump on for a quick update. Basically all that’s left to do is smaller details and cleanup. I should have the modeling finished by the end of the weekend, then I’ll either start unwrapping to get ready for texture application, or I’ll move on to the exterior modeling since I’m already in that groove. Anyway, here’s a quick screen grab looking into the cockpit from outside.
A few points of interest: as you can see, the airlock is open so that you can see down into the “neck” that leads to the aft passenger compartment. Also, the gangway that allows the pilot to get into the seat is raised right now. There’s a control panel near the airlock that will allow you to put the seat into a “load” position so your pilot can get into it.
The seat itself is very minimal. This was done to obstruct the large outside view as little as possible. As you can see, you have a good 220-ish degrees of spherical forward view. There’s a set of control panels left and right, as well as a forward panel that also houses the EFD display (not shown here). There’s a few other details about the seat that I won’t share right now–should be very cool once it’s functioning in the sim though…
And that’s about all for this one. I’ll post again when I have more to show.
