DCIRogue System
Dev Entry 5/4/13

Hi all,

Didn’t have a lot of code time this week sadly, so there’s not too much to update you all about. I had to put in a few extra hours for ISI (trying to finish up the latest track for rF2). Likewise, it was Angel’s birthday on Thursday, so no work that night. Wednesday was also limited as we had a school function to attend for one of the daughters.

All that said, I just now finished getting things cleaned up so that I can again transfer from one ship to another that’s docked with it. This puts me back in the fighter; and what this means is that I can start working on the new ship systems! I wanted to be at this point by the beginning of May, so I’m only a few days off-schedule–not too bad considering the huge restructure, I don’t think.

This also completes the Database review and revision, by the way, so I was able to check that item off of the public pre-Alpha To-Do list :)

So, the goal for this month is to be able to get the engines, flight controls, and critical ship functions running. As I mentioned before, none of this can happen without the new electrical system, so that’s first. I also have to code the new heating and cooling functions. These will be FAR more robust than what I had before, including a new heat dispersal system that I’ve come up with. This actually has to be part of the ship’s exterior design, so there is a bit of coordination there. More on this system later…

So, I think tonight I’ll get the framework for the electrical system put in place, and then tomorrow will be another art day (at least for a few hours). Think I’ll work on the new fighter design a bit more…

Until next time…
