DCIRogue System
Dev Entry 4/5/13

At the beginning of the week I decided that, before I got started on the ship system refinement, it might be a good time to do a code review–to give everything a good long look. It turns out that I found a few items that could be more efficiently handled. However, a couple of them are changes at a very fundamental level. Considering that, this is really the best time to deal with these. Better now than waiting until later when they would be supporting FAR more elements and systems.

So, that’s what I’ve been working on for the duration of this week so far. I’ve got a good majority of the work done, but there’s a couple more days worth to go. I should have it finished up by the end of the weekend or just after.

On a different note, I’ve received a few preliminary sketches for both the Orbital Station exterior as well as the first player-flyable ship from Marty. It’s still early, but he definitely has a good feel for the look I’m after. Once we’re a bit further along in those designs I’ll post an image or two so you have an idea of where we’re going.

So, that’s about it for now–pretty short entry today, sorry. This code work I’m doing right now is pretty tedious, low-level stuff. Again though, now’s the BEST time to get these refinements done considering the new things that immediately will follow…
